What this is, and what it does for you
AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity answer from what they remember and what they can find on the web. For a niche subject like Canadian pharmacy transactions, that is often out of date, incomplete, or wrong.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets you plug a trusted source directly into your assistant. Once PharmacyBroker.ca is connected, your assistant stops guessing: it reads our current listings, our directories of every licensed pharmacy in BC and Ontario, our guides, and our valuation model, and answers from those.
Setup takes about a minute, once. There is no account, no cost, and nothing to install on your computer. You keep using your assistant exactly as before; it simply knows more.
If you are looking to buy
Ask what is for sale in your province and get every current listing with its code, status, and highlights. Ask for an indicative value on a pharmacy you are considering, using our calibrated provincial multiples. Ask how bank financing or vendor take back financing works, and get the answer from our guides. When you are ready, your assistant can send us an enquiry, but only after you confirm.
If you own a pharmacy
Ask what a pharmacy with your revenue, EBITDA, and script count might be worth, what multiples apply in your province, how a confidential sale runs from valuation to closing, and whether an asset sale or a share sale suits you. All of it privately, in your own chat, before you speak to anyone.
If you are a pharmacist or researcher
Ask who owns a specific BC pharmacy, which groups own the most stores, which pharmacies changed hands recently, or how many locations a banner has in Ontario. The data comes from the College registers, refreshed regularly and dated.
How to connect
Add the server to your assistant
Claude
In Claude (web or desktop), open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the server URL, leave authentication empty, and save. In a chat, enable the PharmacyBroker.ca connector from the tools menu. Available on paid plans.
ChatGPT
Open Settings, then Apps (or Connectors), then Advanced settings, and switch on Developer mode. Choose Create, paste the server URL, set authentication to none, and save. Available on Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise.
Perplexity
Open Settings, then Connectors, and add a remote MCP server with the URL above. No token is needed.
Gemini, Claude Code, Cursor, and others
Gemini Business administrators can add the server as a custom MCP connection for their workspace. Developer tools such as Claude Code and Cursor accept the URL as a remote MCP server (for Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http pharmacybroker https://pharmacybroker.ca/api/mcp).
Menu names change between releases. If yours differ, look for "connectors", "MCP", or "custom apps" in your assistant's settings.

Data and limits
What the server will and will not do
Every tool reads the same data files the website is built from, so the server can never return more than a page on this site shows. Listings stay anonymized: the exact address, the seller, and full financials are released only to qualified buyers after a signed NDA, through us, never through the server.
The valuation tool is the free calculator's model, and carries the same caveat: an indicative range from limited inputs, not a certified valuation, financial advice, or an offer.
The only action that sends anything to us is submit_enquiry, and the server refuses it unless your assistant passes your explicit confirmation. What you send is handled under our privacy policy. We do not log the questions your assistant asks; the valuation tool records only a coarse value bracket, the same as the website calculator.
The server is provided as is, without an uptime guarantee, and may be rate limited if it is abused. Questions or a client that does not connect: [email protected].
Questions
What is an MCP server?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets an AI assistant connect to an external source of tools and data. Connecting the PharmacyBroker.ca server lets your assistant read our listings, directories, and guides directly and run our valuation model, instead of relying on what it remembers or can find by searching.
Does it cost anything or need an account?
No. The server is free and needs no login or API key. Everything it returns is already public on this website. Your AI client may itself require a paid plan to add custom connectors.
What data can it access?
Only what the website publishes: anonymized listings, the BC and Ontario pharmacy directories built from the College registers, province market facts, the guides, and the valuation estimate. Nothing under NDA is reachable. The only write action is submit_enquiry, which sends a message to us and requires your explicit confirmation in the conversation.
Is a valuation from the assistant a real valuation?
No. It is the same indicative estimate as the free calculator on this site: a range from calibrated provincial multiples and a few inputs. It is not a certified business valuation or financial advice. For a number you can plan around, request a full assessment.
Which AI assistants can connect?
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP. As of September 2026 that includes Claude (custom connectors on paid plans), ChatGPT (Developer mode on Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise), Perplexity (connectors), Gemini Business (admin configured), and developer tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
